This year we had close to 50 people, children included with tons of tasty traditional July 4th food - especially my mom's mustard potato salad!

A photo of  my niece, Passion, cooling off with an nice, frozen, orange, popsicle.

For your celebration projects, I have a  link to a cute little July 4th banner from Pumpkin's n Posies. They have lots of other great freebies on their site.

First of all - It's my birthday! "Happy birthday to me...!"  I've had lots of birthday wishes from family and friends on Facebook. Funny how modern day social media has replaced old fashioned telephone calls and snail mail birthday greetings. I'm not complaining mind you, because without Facebook I would probably not have gotten as many as I did! And it was great hearing from soooo many people - THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who posted!! It really made my day!

I went totally outside of my little box I live in and.... Got a Tattoo for my birthday!

Don't think I will doing this again anytime too soon! But, I do love my little birdies.

Oh my - it has been a few days since my last post! Life does get busy and I have been busy getting summer in check. The temps are already climbing here in Texas and very little rain in site :-( We live  on Lake Tawakoni and this drought has devested the area. Below i s a picture of our now Beach Front. In the distance  you can  see our fishing doc.  It looks to be a long, hot, dry summer.

These  old tree stumps are  normally under water and make for great fishing in the part of the  lake we  live on. When the sun is going down it is really eerie...

Summer Beginnigs

The first week of June- the beginning of summer, came in blazing here in N. Texas. Already so many activities! Graduations, cookouts, church rummage sales and sleepovers!

My son has decided he is going to become more responsible this summer and help out around the house more :D ...sounds good to me! And true to his word he has really made an effort his first week at home. So very proud of him and hope it continues! Being that his dad and I are both away from the house nearly 8 hours a day (him running his own vape shop, and me working p-t 3 days a week and then working at our family owned store the other 3 days) housework get a little overlooked at home! And Nick is finally realizing how much he can contribute with his chores and leave a little more room for family time.

Thanks Mom!

What a BUSY weekend! Spent Friday preparing for our BIG parking lot sale at our store Quinlan Market Place - it was exhausting. We were hoping to add more awareness and exposure for our business, but with the threat of rain all morning it seemed to get a slow start. By the early afternoon  more people started to flow through and it seemed we might make back what we invested to promote the event and the possibiilty to add a couple more vendors. It started at 9am and ended at 5pm - a long day, plus the cleanup!

After 2 days of non-stop work, I barely made it out of bed this morning and had to be back at the shop by 12pm - ugh! But finally got going and made it there by 12:05 and of course it ended up being a slow day. We pay our vendors 2x a month and today being the 1st it was a nice day to get all of the sales from the last 2 weeks entered, printed and ready for payouts. My son was a big help in getting this task completed and I was thankful he decided to come with us today. Our store hours are 12-4pm on Sundays so it is a short day and we were home at a decent hour.

Have I mentioned that I have the worlds best mom?! She had extra porkchops she grilled today and had them ready for me to pickup as we drove by her house this afternoon - I live across the street from her :D... All we had to do was heat up some veggies, add some leftover bread sticks from last nights' Pizza Hut "Dinner in a Box" and dinner was complete! THANKS Mom!!...P.S., I Love YOU to the moon and back!

Speaking of my mom, she loves butterflies. Everytime she sees one, she says "Hi momma" referring to her beloved mother, my beloved granny who passed on in 2004 (after 10 years, I still miss her everyday). In honor of her I leave with you a link to a sweet kit found on the Hybrid Chicks by Etc. by Danyale - Enjoy!
